Informal letter

21.12.08
.
Dear Mazal
.
How are you, my lovely cousin? Is everything OK at home? At school?. I miss you so mach and I can't wait to see you. I'm sorry I haven't written in a while, I was busy organizing my new house, remember? We moved home to Holon last month. In my life everything is o.k.
last week I was on a school trip for two days, it was so
funny.
_
A very surprising thing happened to me onn this trip to the south. Do you remember I told you about a very nice boy? then on this trip we were together all the time. We were talking a lot about everything in my life and about his life. His name is Tal and he lives near my house. Mazal, he is so amazing, he was looking in to my eyes in his dissolved look all the time. We spent all the evening together but in the end he told me that he loves me a lot of time and he didn't know how to start talking to me. It was such surprising thing but I was happy. The question now is: will my family accept him?
_
What do think about it? will they accept him or not? I hope you will write me back soon because I need your opinion on this problem.

Love you.
Sara

What is time?

The Hourglass

The Hourglass is a device for the measurement of time.
It consists of two glass bulbs placed one above the other which are connected by a narrow tube. The hourglass is named for the most frequently used sandglass, where the sands have a running time of one hour.

Hourglasses are said to have been invented at Alexandria about the middle of the third century. It is speculated that it was in use in the 11th century, where it would have complemented the magnetic compass as an aid to navigation. Recorded evidence of their existence is found no earlier than the 14th century.

Finally, Hourglasses are still in use, but typically only ornamentally or when a relatively approximate measurement of time is needed, as in egg timers for cooking or board games.

The sundial

A sundial is a device that measures time by the position of the sun. As the sun moves across the sky, the shadow-edge progressively aligns with different hour-lines on the plate.

The first sundial that humans invented was by Obelisk in ancient Egypt in 3500 BC. With time, it became more specific and efficient, but even now, we can't know what is the exact hour from the Sundial.

In conclusion, the Sundial was one of the first clocks that was invented in
the world. Now there is no use in the sundial.

My travel =]...

In August 2005 I celebrated my Bat mitzvah and my parents gave me a present, they took me on a trip to Turkey. We traveled to Antalya and we stayed in a very magnificent hotel name "Arkadia" for five days .

Turkey is a very popular place. Many Israelies go there on vacation during the whole year. In Antalya there are many amazing places. Every day on our trip my family and I went to different places in Antalya. There were two places that I liked the most: the bazaar and the famous waterfall. In the bazaar we met our old friend. We didn't see him many years and it was very exciting to see him again. In the hotel we spent our time in the pool or just relaxing in the hotel garden.

Finally, I enjoyed this holiday a lot and I will never forget the amazing ambience of Turkey. Traveling in Turkey is a wonderful experience that nobody should miss and I hope that I will travel there again.

My close friend :]

I chose to write about my close friend Nastia.
She was born on August 8th 1993 in Ukraine. She came to Israel in 1999 and she lives in Holon. I have known Nastia for six years now but I feel that I have known her all my life.

Nastia is a very special person. She is always next to me. Every time that I need her she is there to support me. Nastia is like my sister, she knows all about me and I know all about her. When I am sad she looks into my eyes and she suddenly knows what is wrong with me. She always advises me and helps me with my problems.

I like to be with Nastia in my spare time. We always have something to talk about and we usually laugh about nonsense without reason. Sometimes she comes to my home or I goto her home and we listen to music and do many other interesting things. Furthermore we like go to shopping together and sometimes we learn for a test or just do some homework together.

In conclusion, Nastia is a very big part of my life and I thank god that I met her because she is really like my sister and I hope that we will stay like this forever.
